Challenge: Six weeks to build, in the December peak — Christmas and New Year travel at Changi, and handover one week before Chinese New Year. Skilled workers (ours and our vendors') took annual leave 2–3 weeks before CNY, and factories closed early for Christmas and the Lunar New Year — materials and equipment, including a pizza oven from Europe, had to be ordered in advance with logistics tracked to arrive on time.
Solution: Fast, precise execution with materials pre-ordered and logistics tracked from Europe and Asia; a dedicated project manager keeping the programme tight through the holiday period.
Outcome: The whole construction completed in 5 weeks and handed over at the start of week 6 — the client gained an extra week to trial-run the restaurant. Client very happy.
Challenge: Full store turnover in two phases — demolish the existing bare unit and rebuild while keeping the other half open for business, without affecting DFS sales operations.
Solution: Phased works — two weeks per phase, one half of the store trading at all times, across both stores in departure and arrival transit.
Outcome: Total turnover completed in 8 weeks across both stores, with sales operations uninterrupted throughout.
Challenge: Specialist clinic fit-out — clinical compliance and patient privacy, delivered in a tight programme.
Solution: Ten weeks from design concept → space planning and shop drawings → material selection → construction, with just 4 weeks on site.
